Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MiiPay App and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
“MiiPay”, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to the operator of the MiiPay Service. For support or questions, email support@miipay.net.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- If you are under the age of majority in your country, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
- You must be able to form a legally binding contract where you live.
3. Accounts and security
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating an account (e.g., name, email).
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4. The Service
MiiPay provides software to help manage and record payments and time-based usage for compatible devices (for example, domestic appliances). The Service may include features for tenants, landlords, property managers, and other users.
Compatibility
Some features require compatible hardware, an internet connection, and supported mobile devices/operating systems. We do not guarantee the Service will work with all devices, networks, or environments.
5. Payments, fees, and third parties
Payments may be processed using third-party payment providers (for example, Stripe). When you make a payment, you may also be subject to the third party’s terms and policies.
- You agree to pay any fees shown to you at the point of purchase or within the App.
- Third-party fees (such as card processing) may apply depending on the payment method/provider.
- We do not store full payment card details on our servers (payment providers handle card processing).
Refunds
Unless required by law, purchases and fees may be non-refundable once time/usage has been delivered or consumed. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@miipay.net with details.
6. User responsibilities
- Use the Service lawfully and in accordance with these Terms.
- Do not misuse the Service (for example: hacking, introducing malware, attempting to bypass controls, scraping, or interfering with operation).
- Do not use the Service to harm others, violate privacy, or infringe intellectual property rights.
- Do not use the Service to provide regulated “metering” claims or certifications unless you have the legal authority to do so.
7. Landlords, property managers, and device operators
If you operate devices or charge end users (for example, tenants) using the Service, you are responsible for:
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations (including consumer, housing, safety, and electrical requirements).
- Providing clear pricing and usage terms to your end users.
- Ensuring hardware is installed and maintained safely and lawfully.
- Handling disputes with your end users (we may assist with logs/records where appropriate).
8. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including features, supported devices, and availability. We try to keep the Service reliable, but it may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or circumstances outside our control (for example, network failures).
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you:
- violate these Terms,
- use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal exposure, or
- attempt to interfere with or compromise the Service.
Termination may result in loss of access to your account and Service features. Where required by law, we will provide notice and/or an opportunity to remedy.
10. Intellectual property
The Service (including software, trademarks, branding, and content) is owned by MiiPay or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. Please review it here: Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any records will be perfectly complete in all circumstances (for example, if devices lose connectivity).
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MiiPay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless a higher amount is required by law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
